TIG welding

|
SCHWARZ AG FEINBLECHTECHNIK is set up for TIG welding, procedure number 141 according to EN ISO 4063.
TIG stands for Tungsten Inert Gas welding, meaning fusion welding with a non-consumable electrode (tungsten) using shielding gas. The shielding gas is ‘inert,’ that is, the electrode and melt are not affected.
TIG welding allows a simpler monitoring of the weld pool, whereby this procedure is especially preferred for use with smaller, shorter welding points. An additional advantage is that TIG causes less melting loss, which is tantamount to less fettling.
A disadvantage should be mentioned, namely that with TIG more warpage on the component can result; it is therefore necessary to pay special attention to the welding process.
