ABB Drives Converter cabinets for big engine drivers (shipbuilding)

Thanks to our modular design system, ABB Schweiz AG today can order many different versions of housings without design documentation. The project-specific control cabinet is ordered using a few key specifications such as a product parts list, IP protection and colour. Extremely short delivery times are now achieved by systematizing the construction, including design, production and testing.

The project-specific load distribution of the devices installed by ABB also requires a systematized strength calculation of each base frame.

Celsius Aluminium housings for innovative electrical Airplane

During 8 months 12 ETH mechanical and electrical engineering students are developing a 4-seater electrical airplane with a modular battery system, based on a “Sling TSi”.

SCHWARZ AG FEINBLECHTECHNIK actively supports the ETH team with Engineering services and the production of welded aluminium housings for the battery and the PDU/LB units.

Main goals of the project are the development of an efficient electric drive train and a modular battery system as well as proofing the certifiability of the aircraft. The ETH focus project will start in Sept. 2020 and end in May 2021. With the modular battery systems, the innovative cooling system, an optional range extender and an electrical motor the e-Sling is a unique and sustainable electric airplane

Mikron MAIA low volume medical device assembly

Mikron MAIA is a low volume assembly and test platform to produce single or multiple variants of pen, auto-injectors or safety syringes with manual component loading.

Typically, our pharmaceutical and MedTech customers use MAIA for clinical studies and low commercial quantities before producing them on a larger scale for  serial production.

With advanced automation and smart technology, our platform MAIA streamlines key assembly processes while ensuring quality and data collection

Thanks to the close cooperation with the customer the time to market target as well the high demands on the product appearance were satisfied.

Stryker Cart «Surgical Navigation»

SCHWARZ AG FEINBLECHTECHNIK implemented another order from STRYKER Navigation, a subsidiary of STRYKER, the American medical technology group, for developing and manufacturing the cart for the new “Surgical Navigation Platform NAV3i”. These carts are produced, assembled, tested and packed in our modern, specially equipped factory in Würenlingen. A comprehensive quality documentation commensurate to medical technology accompanies the development and production.

The engineers of SCHWARZ AG FEINBLECHTECHNIK were part of the development team of STRYKER Navigation and implemented innovative and practical ideas in record time and developed them for the production stage. Some challenges of the customer’s specifications were, among other things, fulfilling the applicable standards in the medical technology sector and meeting the requirements for design and serviceability. A high level of development speed and quality were achieved by our rigorous project management. Follow-up orders underscore the customer’s satisfaction.

The newest model, the cart for the Flex-platform, is developed by us and launched together with the customer last year. We will deliver this new cart for several years in the future with the highest quality.
